Full Mouth Restoration in Carrollwood Village, FL

Dental concerns don't typically arrive all at once. They accumulate over time: a crown here, a missing tooth there, or old fillings that are starting to fail. If you've reached a point where multiple issues need attention and you're not sure where to start, full mouth restoration may be the answer.

Dr. Richard Mancuso has served Tampa Bay patients since 2016 and has completed advanced training in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and reconstructive dentistry. His expertise means we can address all your needs with one doctor without visiting multiple specialists.

What Is Full Mouth Restoration?

Full mouth restoration refers to a treatment plan that addresses multiple dental concerns in a planned sequence over time. Treatment may include any combination of the following and apply to a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all your teeth:

  • Repair decayed or broken teeth with crowns and fillings
  • Replace missing teeth with dental implants or dentures
  • Resolve gum disease with a deep cleaning or laser therapy
  • Address TMJ and bite issues that interfere with chewing or comfort
  • Correct aesthetic issues with veneers, bonding, or whitening

What Full Mouth Restoration Can Address

If you’re dealing with multiple concerns, a coordinated treatment plan addresses everything together, with the full picture in mind.

Accumulated Dental Problems

Each problem, from missing teeth to failing restorations, affects surrounding teeth and structures. Addressing everything in one coordinated treatment plan is more effective than tackling issues one by one as they worsen.

Mismatched, Failing Restorations

Crowns, bridges, and fillings all have a lifespan and eventually wear out. Full mouth restoration replaces failing work with modern materials that look natural, function reliably, and are designed to hold up over time.

Discomfort and Lost Chewing Function

Tooth pain, difficulty chewing, and jaw discomfort make eating and daily life more difficult than it needs to be. Restoring proper bite alignment and tooth structure can dramatically improve comfort and function for most patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

Full mouth restoration typically takes anywhere from six months to over a year, depending on the scope of your treatment plan. There is no standard timeline — every case is different, and the factors that affect duration are specific to your situation.

What Affects the Timeline?

Several factors determine how long full mouth restoration takes:

  • Number and type of treatments involved: A plan that includes crowns, veneers, and whitening moves faster than one that incorporates implants, gum therapy, or TMJ treatment alongside restorative work.
  • Implant integration:  If dental implants are part of your plan, several months of healing are required before we place the final restoration. Cases involving implants may take closer to a year from start to finish.
  • Healing time between procedures:  Some treatments require healing before moving to the next phase. Dr. Mancuso will build appropriate recovery time into your plan.
  • Lab fabrication time: We work with a trusted dental lab for custom crowns, bridges, veneers, and other restorations. Fabrication typically takes one to two weeks per restoration, which factors into the overall timeline.
  • Patient scheduling flexibility: We schedule appointments around your schedule. If you can come in more frequently, we may be able to complete treatment faster than if you prefer longer intervals between visits. The pace is up to you.

Getting Started with Your Treatment

Your Comprehensive Treatment Plan

Thorough Evaluation

The first step is a thorough evaluation. Dr. Mancuso takes time to understand your dental history, what's been bothering you, and your smile goals. If you’re an existing patient, he already has a picture of where things stand. If you’re new to our practice, he starts fresh with a comprehensive exam that includes x-rays and intraoral photos.

Creating Your Treatment Plan

Based on his evaluation, Dr. Mancuso develops a treatment plan based on what's immediately necessary for your health, what can wait, and the final outcome. He'll walk you through every procedure, explain why he recommends it, and ensure you understand the full plan before we schedule anything.

We’ll Guide You Through the Process

We understand that even the term ‘full mouth restoration’ can sound overwhelming. Rest assured that we won’t just hand you a treatment plan and send you on your way.

Dr. Mancuso will provide a clear explanation of what each phase of treatment involves. Our team will help you understand your insurance benefits and what restorative work it may cover. If you’re interested in financing, our team will help you get set up with CareCredit, Sunbit, or one of our other options.

We don't need to complete everything at once, so we’ll also work with you to coordinate a convenient schedule of appointments that fits your schedule and budget.
