Sleep Apnea and Snoring Treatment in Carrollwood Village, FL

You go to bed tired and wake up the same way. You may have been told you snore or that you stop breathing in your sleep. Your partner may be losing as much sleep as you are. If this sounds familiar, you may be living with sleep apnea.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

With obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), your airway partially or fully closes during sleep. You stop breathing repeatedly through the night, and since your body is not getting enough oxygen, it forces you awake, often accompanied by a loud gasping or snorting sound.

These interruptions can happen dozens of times per hour without you ever knowing. The result is fragmented sleep that leaves your body and brain without rest they need to recover.

What Sleep Apnea Treatment Can Address

Sleep apnea affects more than your sleep. For many patients, the impact shows up in their health, their energy, and their relationship with their partner, often for years before a diagnosis.

Poor Sleep Quality

Because your body never reaches the deeper, restorative stages of sleep, you may awaken feeling exhausted regardless of how many hours you spend in bed. Treating the underlying cause can restore the kind of sleep that actually helps your body recover.

Serious Health Risks

Repeated breathing pauses strain the cardiovascular system. Untreated sleep apnea is linked to high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, and increased stroke risk. Addressing it can help you sleep better while reducing risks that compound over time.

CPAP Hasn't Worked

CPAP is commonly prescribed treatment for sleep apnea, but many patients find it uncomfortable and disruptive and resist using it. If you were prescribed a CPAP machine and stopped using it, oral appliance therapy might be the solution.

Shared Sleep Problems

Snoring is often the first sign a partner notices. Loud, persistent snoring, especially with pauses in breathing, is a common indicator of sleep apnea. Treating the condition can reduce or eliminate snoring, improving your and your sleep partner's rest.

You Don't Want Surgery

In many cases, we can manage sleep apnea without surgery. Oral appliance therapy is non-invasive and works well for mild to moderate cases, and for some with severe sleep apnea who can’t tolerate CPAP. You don’t have to assume that surgery is your only option.
