Emergency Dental Care

Nobody likes dealing with a dental emergency, but they sometimes happen. With some dental emergencies, it’s important to seek medical attention as soon as possible. Immediate care can mean the difference between saving and losing a tooth.

In other situations, your situation might not be as urgent as you though, and we can put your on our schedule for the next available appointment. We can help you determine whether you should come in right away, or if your issue can wait until normal business hours.

When you are facing a dental emergency such as an injury, broken tooth, infection, or toothache, contact Carrollwood Village Dental and Dr. Richard Mancuso for an appointment. Even if you are not a patient of record, we offer same-day appointments.

Reasons You Might Need an Emergency Dentist

A toothache is a common dental emergency that might start out as mild discomfort. When it gets worse quickly, you need to see the dentist right away.

Frequently, toothaches happen because there is an infection in the nerve of the tooth. Other reasons for toothaches can include gum infections or abscesses. You might also get a toothache if your filling fell out or has become cracked or loose. It's important to remember that dental pain of any kind is never normal so you should always give us a call at the first sign of discomfort.

If you have been hit or otherwise injured in the mouth, you need to see the dentist right away. Particularly if you have a broken tooth or if your tooth has fallen out completely, immediate care is needed. (But if you are bleeding profusely or think your jaw might be broken, please call 911 or get to the closest emergency room!)

If your tooth has been knocked from its socket, we might be able to save it if you get treatment immediately. We can also provide you with specific instructions for preserving the tooth in the meantime when you call our office.

Future Dental Emergencies

When you aren't having any problems with your teeth, you might be tempted to skip dental appointments. But this is the quickest way to find yourself seeking emergency dental services. Without routine exams to detect potential problems, they can easily escalate into emergencies.

Dr. Mancuso understands that some patients are anxious about the dentist, and neither he nor his staff will be judgmental if you are coming to the dentist for the first time in a long time. With Dr. Mancuso’s gentle touch, experienced staff, and comfortable office, you can feel relaxed at your dental appointment.

If you are facing a dental emergency, give Carrollwood Village Dental a call. Dr. Mancuso will get you in as soon as possible!
